Yes and No. The more important questions are: Do you want one? And, are you ready for one?
I believe in the power of partnerships. I believe that all of us can benefit from having someone open-minded, objective, and completely unattached-from-the-outcome, in our corner. I have also experienced that my most rapid growth comes from working with someone who isn't afraid to call me on my BS and has an i-don't-care-if-you-hate-me demeanor, because that is sometimes what it takes to get out of our own way and have a transformation.
A coach will push you, pull you, guide you, cheerlead you, and tell it to you straight...but only if you ask them to (aka HIRE THEM.) Yet, if you feel like you SHOULD hire a coach, or aren't ready, it is a waste of your time, money and energy, and the time and energy of the coach, because you won't get any VALUE from the experience.
So, grab a piece of paper, and let's take a little quiz to see if you are ready to work with a coach, specifically with me.
On a scale of 1-5 (with 1 being NOT TRUE AT ALL and 5 being VERY TRUE), how true are these statements for you (no one will see this, including me, so please be honest.)
When it comes to conflict, I avoid it all together, people-please my way past it, or compete my way through it.
There are people in my life that I try to avoid, or at least limit contact with as much as possible.
I have trust issues with some of the people in my life.
There are people in my life that don't understand me and don't respect me.
I struggle to set and maintain boundaries with the people in my life.
I often feel guilty for things, or the people in my life make me feel guilty.
When I have negative feelings (anger, frustration, etc), I tend to brush them aside or push them down.
I experienced a challenging relationship in the past, that I keep thinking about despite having left.
I believe that some of the people in my life should change.
